The Amalfi Coast is located south of the Sorrento peninsula and overlooks the waters of the Gulf of Salerno. The two points that mark the limits of this extensive stretch of Campania’s coast are the village of Positano in the west, and that of Vietri sul Mare to the east. Between these two famous landmarks, in consecutive order, lie the beautiful towns of Cetara, Erchie, Maiori, Minori, Ravello, Atrani, Amalfi, Conca dei Marini, Furore and Praiano, which you can admire during your trip.
The Amalfi Coast is a renowned tourist destination the world over for its unique and invaluable landscapes, which have earned it UNESCO World Heritage Site status. So, it’s easy to understand why this Italian coastline is so beloved, admired and respected, and how many wonders it has for its visitors to discover.
Amalfi, the Coast’s namesake city, is known for Sant’Andrea’s Cathedral and its iconic lemon terraces. Other villages deserving of a special mention include Ravello, with its fairy-tale Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, Vietri sul Mare, for its characteristic Vietera ceramic production, Cetara, with its traditional and mouth-watering “colatura di alici” (anchovy sauce), Positano, for its fashionable boutiques, Maiori for its extensive beach and Minori with the delicacies of the famous Sal De Riso pâtisserie.
